Betty S. The Journey of music

Began in the Music workshop of the Mayville Community Centre Islington, London.
Shortly after formed a soul band called Ocean and as lead singer and songwriter with a few covers from Mica Paris, Stevie Wonder, Chaka Kahn etc., started playing in the local pubs and clubs. The band became more and more popular. Played the Nottinghill Carnival 4 consecutive years. The Newington Green's Jazz Cafe festival 3 consecutive years. The famous Astoria, Charing Cross, London.

Ocean signed the first recording contract with Creole Records and due to the success of the 1st single 'Sweet Feelings' The band toured the greek and spanish islands.

Joined the R & B scene and with the band The Fabulous Dr. Dickies Night Train, had regular spots in The Worlds End, Finsbury Park, London - Dingwalls, Camden - The Cartoon, Croydon and as far as Band On The Wall in Manchester.

Joined the Famous African Hi-life band Osibisa. Toured with them in Sweden, Turkey and England.

Had a release with Clubstitute Record Label with the hit single 'Forever' under the name Grace with remixes by Doop and Dillon & Diekens for Higher State Records London. At the same time started working as a sessiion singer for Peter Beilig, Peter Waterman at PWL, The Hit'N'Run Factory And the Walthamstow Crew, Chrysallis Records, UK Tribe, and many more.

Joined The Empire State Blues Brothers Band playing all over England with the regular at the famous Dover Street Wine Bar, London. Worked with Paul Lamb on Paul Riordans 'The Harmonica Man, The London Synth Orchestra, The London Community Gospel Choir.

Joined Supermax and toured in Moscow, St, Petersburg, Bulgaria, Austria and Azerbaidzhan.

Has worked with a variety of producers and musicians including Bernd Jungmair-Cosmix, Klaus Biedermann, Wolfgang Ambros, Boris Bukowski, Gloria Gaynor, Kurt Ostbahn, Chris DeBurgh, Sofa Surfers, Lutricia Mc.Neal, Zee Express, (under the name Caprice) with the hit single 'I've Got To Run' &&&

For almost 3 years Betty has been working at the Vienna Music Institute as a vocal coach. (Jazz, Soul & Blues)

Wet Cookies is a Jazz based Soul band who have recently released their new Album ‘Soul Protection’ which Betty Wrote and sung three of the songs. She also sung backing vocals on some of the other tracks.

This is just a taste of what Betty S. has been doing with her time.

Betty will be singing in the Dancing Stars orchestra in the 5th series.

The journey continues.
